Woodbridge, NJ – A 22-year-old driver from Elizabeth died in a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Exit 132, according to the New Jersey State Police. The driver was traveling in a Honda when he lost control, struck a guardrail, and then re-entered traffic at an angle.
A Lexus SUV, driven by a 57-year-old woman from Barnegat, collided with the Honda, which then hit a concrete barrier. Following this, a Ram pickup truck, operated by a 74-year-old man from Beach Haven, struck the rear of the Lexus.
Emergency responders provided aid at the scene. The Honda driver suffered fatal injuries, while the Lexus driver was uninjured and the pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries. An investigation into the crash’s circumstances is ongoing, authorities said.
Lane closures were in effect during the incident’s aftermath. The New Jersey State Police continue to review evidence and statements related to the crash.
