Goffstown Driver Released on Bail Following Fatal Motorcycle Crash
GILFORD, NH — Anthony J. Summers, 32, of Goffstown, was released on bail Wednesday after being charged with negligent homicide in a crash that killed three motorcyclists last fall.
Summers faces three counts of felony negligent homicide and one count of felony falsifying evidence related to a crash on Route 11 near Country Village Way on Sept. 20. During the incident, Summers’ 2025 Ford Bronco allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with two motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of Scott and Robyn Blomerth and Timothy “TJ” Sullivan.
According to authorities, the crash was reported at 6:10 p.m. Summers had a blood alcohol content of 0.027 and tested positive for THC and amphetamines, though he refused a blood draw at the scene. Judge Elizabeth Leonard granted bail with strict conditions at a hearing on Jan. 6, stating that Summers must remain on house arrest and is prohibited from driving or using alcohol.
Witnesses reported seeing the Bronco hit the motorcycles while Summers was allegedly looking at his passenger. Leonard noted that the operator of the motorcycle perceived to be struck first also had a BAC over the legal limit.
Summers was initially charged in Laconia District Court, and the case was elevated to Superior Court after Grand Jury indictments on Dec. 19. A dispositional conference is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 8:30 a.m. at Belknap County Superior Court.
Michael Lynch, a friend of the victims, expressed outrage at the bail decision, stating it reflects a failure of the justice system.
