Junior Defensive Lineman Kelvin Broadhurst Dies in Motorcycle Accident in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC — Kelvin Level Broadhurst Jr., a 20-year-old junior defensive lineman for North Carolina A&T, died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, Broadhurst was riding on Interstate 40 East when he attempted to transition to the US 29 South ramp. Authorities said he lost control of his motorcycle, struck a guardrail, and veered off the road, resulting in his ejection.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Broadhurst was pronounced dead at the scene. The police’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident, confirming no other vehicles were involved.

Broadhurst, a consistent defensive presence for the Aggies, had played in 28 games, accumulating 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He previously played at Dorman High School in South Carolina, where he had a standout senior season with 43 tackles.

The North Carolina A&T community mourns the loss of Broadhurst, who was expected to step into a larger leadership role in the upcoming season under second-year head coach Shawn Gibbs.
