A Henderson Police motorcycle officer was seriously injured in a collision with a white Ford Edge near the 215 Beltway and Windmill Lane on Tuesday at approximately 8 a.m.
According to authorities, the officer, whose name has not been released, was on duty at the time of the incident and was transported to a local hospital. Captain Seth VanBeveren reported that the officer is expected to recover but faces a lengthy recuperation period.
The driver of the Ford Edge remained at the scene and cooperated with police. As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, the investigation is ongoing, and the beltway ramps in the area remain closed.
VanBeveren urged motorists to be aware of motorcyclists on the road. No further details on injuries or damages have been confirmed.
