Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Crash in Post Falls, Idaho
POST FALLS, Idaho — A 21-year-old man died following a high-speed motorcycle crash early Sunday morning, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
Authorities reported that at 1:50 a.m., an Idaho State Police Sergeant observed a motorcycle traveling at 117 mph on I-90 near Spokane Street. The officer activated lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the rider.
Moments later, deputies learned that the motorcycle had crashed in a roundabout at the intersection of Chase Road and Prairie Avenue. KCSO confirmed that the rider, identified as Eddie Martinez Lopez, was located a short distance from the crash site and pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures being administered.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
