Two Dead in Head-On Collision on Highway 208 in Topaz Ranch Estates
TOPAZ RANCH ESTATES, NV — Two individuals were confirmed dead following a head-on collision on Highway 208 early Friday morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Emergency responders, including the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and East Fork Firefighters, were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:55 a.m. One of the involved vehicles caught fire. Witnesses reported that two people were trapped inside the burning vehicle. East Fork Air 12 transported one injured person to Renown Regional Medical Center.
Authorities are currently assisting the Nevada State Police with the ongoing investigation near the intersection of State Route 208 and Sleeping Elephant Ranch. Temporary road closures are in effect, and motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Previous incidents on Highway 395 included a collision that closed the northbound lanes at Jake’s Hill around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, resulting in one transport from the scene. Additionally, an overturned semi-truck affected southbound traffic on Highway 395 near Highway 50 at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.
