TULSA, Okla. — A hit-and-run accident on March 19 has resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, identified as 21-year-old Bradley Winans.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a collision involving a motorcycle and a silver sedan near South Jamestown Avenue and East 31st Street. Authorities report that a 2021 Chevy Malibu traveling southbound on Jamestown failed to yield at a stop sign and crossed into the path of a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle heading eastbound.
The motorcycle struck the side of the Chevy, which subsequently fled the scene. A witness pursued the vehicle and photographed the license plate, aiding law enforcement in locating the Chevy at a nearby residence.
Winans received immediate medical attention at the scene and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on March 20.
The driver of the Chevy, identified as N.Er Uwei, was found at the residence and told police he “didn’t know what to do, so he went home.” He has been arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, Causing an Accident Without a Driver’s License (Great Bodily Injury), Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign, No Driver’s License, and No Insurance.
Following Winans’ death, the District Attorney’s Office announced it would reassess Uwei’s charges. Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Further updates will be provided as available.
