HAUGEN, Wis. (Local News Wire) – A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash on Highway 53 southbound near Long Lake Ave on Sunday at 3:29 p.m.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist was riding a Harley-Davidson when they collided with another vehicle’s left rear corner.
The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and come to a stop in the median.
Authorities reported that evidence collected at the scene indicated the operator was impaired by alcohol.
The injured motorcyclist was first transported to Spooner Health Hospital and later flown to a medical facility in Duluth.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
