Abilene, TX – A fatal motor vehicle collision occurred on June 30, 2026, at approximately 3:57 p.m. at the intersection of Dub Wright Boulevard and Texas Avenue.
According to the Abilene Police Department, the crash involved a Jeep Wrangler and a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old female identified as Jordan Ballard, was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Justice of the Peace.
Emergency responders, including the Traffic Division, Abilene Fire Department, and EMS, arrived to provide assistance. Witnesses reported that bystanders performed first aid prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, but efforts were unsuccessful.
Preliminary investigations indicate the Jeep was traveling southbound on Dub Wright Boulevard when it attempted a left turn onto eastbound Texas Avenue, failing to yield the right of way and colliding with the motorcycle. Ballard was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Authorities confirmed that intoxication does not appear to be a factor.
The Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division is continuing its investigation into the fatal collision. Next-of-kin notifications were made with the assistance of Dyess Air Force Base personnel, where Ballard was stationed.
