LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A man died in a motorcycle crash on Versailles Road early Thursday morning, identified as Shawn Taylor Wilson, 43, of Lexington.
The Lexington Police Department reported officers were dispatched at 6:51 a.m. to the scene of the multi-vehicle accident, which involved three vehicles, one being a motorcycle.
According to Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn, Wilson succumbed to multiple blunt force traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident. Details regarding lane closures and vehicle tows have yet to be confirmed.
A nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed concern over recurring accidents in the area, citing multiple incidents in the past week alone.
“There just needs to be more enforcement,” he said, advocating for the installation of a traffic light at the intersection of Woodford Drive and Versailles Road.
He noted a pattern of speeding on the road, stating, “People are driving way too fast, 10, 20, 30 miles over the speed limit.”
The resident hopes that officials will take action to enhance safety on Versailles Road following this tragic incident.
