LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A motorcycle crash in north Lincoln on Saturday evening resulted in one fatality, police confirmed.
The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. near North 48th Street and Leighton Avenue. Authorities reported that a Chevy Traverse was exiting a business and made a left turn onto North 48th Street, colliding with a northbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 61-year-old man from Lincoln, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The SUV driver was uninjured and is undergoing a voluntary evaluation by a Lincoln Police Department (LPD) drug recognition expert. According to LPD, no signs of impairment were observed at the scene. Charges are pending based on the evaluation outcome.
