Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Versailles Road; Investigation Underway
A fatal motorcycle collision occurred on Versailles Road in Lexington at approximately 6:51 a.m. Thursday, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.
The accident involved three vehicles, including a motorcycle. Authorities reported that one motorist sustained life-threatening injuries. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed the deceased as 43-year-old Shawn Wilson of Lexington, who was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m. from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
Following the incident, all lanes of Versailles Road were closed between Delmont Drive and Garrett Avenue. By 9:30 a.m., traffic was reported to be fully reopened.
The Lexington Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the crash. As of 9 a.m., no charges had been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
