RUSSELL COUNTY — A motorcycle accident on Interstate 70 injured one driver Friday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 8:27 a.m. when Cody Razo, 24, of Kansas City, Missouri, attempted to exit the highway. Razo was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound and lost control, striking the 199 exit sign at the interchange.
The motorcycle skidded, throwing Razo from the vehicle. Both he and the motorcycle came to rest in the grassy area on the north side of Interstate 70, near the exit ramp.
Emergency Medical Services transported Razo to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet and safety goggles at the time of the accident, authorities reported.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and there were no reported lane closures associated with the crash.
