WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – A man is dead and a woman injured following a collision between an SUV and a motorcycle on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a 67-year-old woman from Churubusco, driving south on S.R. 205, attempted to turn left onto Blue Lake Road, according to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.
Brian O’Connor, a 53-year-old from Columbia City, was traveling north on his motorcycle when the SUV failed to yield and collided with him, authorities said.
O’Connor was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Emergency services from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, where both vehicles were removed. Authorities closed one lane of S.R. 205 as they conducted an investigation.
