LINN COUNTY, Iowa – A motorcycle crash on I-380 in Linn County resulted in the death of a 74-year-old man from Minnesota on Saturday morning.
Authorities were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-380 near the Midway Overpass at approximately 10:55 a.m. for a reported accident.
The victim, identified as James Villars of Plymouth, Minnesota, was ejected from his motorcycle after attempting to change lanes while traveling in the outside lane. Villars was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Emergency personnel closed the interstate for about 35 minutes to clear the scene and investigate the accident.
No additional injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
