Hutchinson, MN – A motorcycle crash in Hutchinson on Saturday evening resulted in one fatality, marking at least 14 traffic deaths across Minnesota in the past week.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred around 6 PM on Highway 7, involving an 80-year-old Hutchinson man on a motorcycle and a westbound pickup truck. The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.
The driver of the pickup, identified as 82-year-old Alan Hoff from Fergus Falls, was uninjured. His passenger, 77-year-old Patricia Hoff, was taken to a Hutchinson hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Fatal Crash Prior to Motorcycle Incident
Earlier on Saturday, another crash occurred at approximately 3:20 PM at a rural intersection about 20 miles north of Marshall. This collision involved a pickup truck traveling west on Highway 67 and a car heading north on a county road.
A 45-year-old woman from Granite Falls was driving the car, while a 60-year-old man from Elk River operated the pickup, accompanied by three female passengers aged 31, 33, and 83. Authorities have not released names or details regarding injuries, though preliminary reports indicate at least one fatality.
In addition to these incidents, 10 other traffic deaths have been recorded since last Friday, including a fatal motorcycle crash in Wabasha County on Friday and a hit-and-run in Duluth on Thursday.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating both crashes. More details are expected as the investigations progress.
