ALEXANDRIA, Ind. (WISH-TV) — A man died and a child was hospitalized following a motorcycle collision in Madison County on Monday night.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before 10 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 100 East and County Road 1300 North. A 2016 Dodge Journey, driven by 46-year-old Ruth A. Paugh of Anderson, failed to yield to a northbound Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle operated by 33-year-old Matthew Scott Doud of Summitville.
Doud was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by the Madison County Coroner’s Office. A juvenile passenger on the motorcycle was transported to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of significant injuries. Details regarding the passenger’s condition have not been released.
Paugh was unharmed and remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to authorities.
