MUSKINGUM TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTAP) – A motorcycle crash on Interstate 77 claimed one life and left another injured on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 39-year-old Krista Boling of Cambridge, Ohio, died from her injuries sustained in the accident.
The incident occurred at 1:35 p.m. on the Exit 6 off ramp. Authorities reported that the motorcycle, driven by 47-year-old Paul Boling, also of Cambridge, was traveling south on I-77 when it veered off the left side of the road and overturned.
Both riders were transported to the hospital; Paul Boling suffered minor injuries, while Krista Boling did not survive.
Authorities noted that neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency response involved the Devola Volunteer Fire Department and Marietta Fire Department assisting the Highway Patrol at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
