LINCOLN — A motorcycle crash resulted in a fatality on Highway 200 near Morris Drive on July 15 around 4:53 p.m., according to authorities.
The Lewis and Clark County Coroner’s Office reported that a 70-year-old male, identified as Alan Dean Kief of Tacoma, Washington, was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m. due to blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.
Preliminary investigations by the Montana Highway Patrol revealed that Kief’s motorcycle was traveling eastbound when a westbound pickup truck turned south in front of him.
Authorities noted that Kief was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. An autopsy and toxicology tests are pending as part of standard protocol for fatal accidents.
Emergency responders were on scene to assist, and lane closures were implemented during the investigation.
