KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) – A motorcycle crash on I-64 West near the Washington Street exit in Charleston left one person hospitalized on October 25, 2023, around 1:30 p.m.
According to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers, the single-vehicle incident involved only the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was found breathing and semi-responsive at the scene and was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
The Charleston Police Department (CPD) stated that West Virginia State Police (WVSP) arrived shortly after the crash and are leading the investigation. Preliminary details indicate the driver swerved to avoid a pothole before crashing into the median. The current condition of the motorcyclist is unclear.
Roadway shutdowns lasted approximately 30 minutes during the emergency response. No further details regarding tows or additional incidents have been confirmed.
