HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A woman died and a man was arrested following a motorcycle crash in Aynor on Saturday night.
Emergency responders with Horry County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene on Bud Graham Road and 7th Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m.
The motorcycle, operated by 44-year-old Ryan Carl Peavy, was traveling east on 7th Avenue when it crossed the center line, veered off the roadway, and crashed, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The passenger, identified as 45-year-old Melissa Lubrico from Galivants Ferry, was transported to a local hospital and subsequently died on Tuesday from her injuries.
Authorities reported that Peavy has been charged with driving under the influence and two counts of hit-and-run, one resulting in death. He is currently under home detention on bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
