Motorcycle Rider and Teen Passenger Fatally Injured in Yuma Crash.

YUMA, AZ — A 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl died after a motorcycle crash in Yuma early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to the collision near Gila Street and Giss Parkway, just east of Interstate 8.

According to investigators, the man was operating an Aprilia RS sport bike with the teen as a passenger when they crashed into a Hyundai SUV that was making a left turn.

The rider died at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Their identities have not been released.

Authorities said the 64-year-old woman driving the Hyundai was unharmed.

Preliminary reports suggest the motorcycle may have been speeding at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
