JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision with a pickup truck on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 2:56 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 22 and Wapsi Avenue. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 59-year-old William Lewis of Blair, Nebraska, struck a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was heading northbound through the intersection.
The motorcyclist was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. Authorities have withheld the rider’s identity pending family notification.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Holiday Wrecker. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
