One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash between a motorcycle and a car near I-40 in Potter County, authorities said.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle was westbound on the south frontage road of I-40 near Arnot Road. Simultaneously, a 2016 Ford Fusion was traveling east and merging onto I-40 via the on-ramp.
DPS reported that the motorcycle failed to yield at a yield sign and was struck by the Ford Fusion, throwing the rider from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider, 38-year-old Kyle Edward Blazer of Chillicothe, Ohio, was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency Medical Services (AMS) transported the 69-year-old driver of the Ford and a 17-year-old passenger to BSA Hospital with minor injuries; both had been wearing seatbelts and were treated and released.
Road conditions at the time were dry and clear in a 55 mph zone. The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which remains ongoing.
