Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash After Evading Traffic Stop.

Lincoln — A motorcycle crash on westbound Interstate 80 claimed the life of a 59-year-old rider Saturday night.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., a Nebraska State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle near mile marker 395. The rider, identified as Jeffery McDonald of Malcolm, fled, engaging in reckless driving that included weaving through traffic and using the shoulder.

As McDonald exited I-80, he lost control and crashed on the off-ramp. The trooper responded swiftly, calling for paramedics and performing life-saving measures. However, McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the pursuit lasted less than three minutes. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
