Motorcyclist and teenager killed in separate crashes; three assault cases reported.

Two Fatal Crashes Under Investigation in Vermont

Marshfield and Lyndon, VT—Two individuals died in separate vehicle crashes in Vermont over the weekend, prompting investigations by the Vermont State Police.

At approximately 9:32 p.m. on Sept. 23, a single-motorcycle crash occurred on U.S. Route 2 near Onion River Road in Marshfield. Christopher Skinner, 40, of Plainfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported Skinner was riding a 2004 Suzuki GSX600FK eastbound when he lost control, striking road signs, a guardrail, and a parked vehicle. CPR efforts were unsuccessful. The conditions were reported as foggy and wet. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the Berlin Barracks at 802-229-9191.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old St. Johnsbury man, Aiden Anderson, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lyndon on Sept. 24 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Police stated that a 2008 Honda Accord, driven by a 16-year-old male, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a tree. Anderson sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he later died. The driver and two 14-year-old passengers suffered minor injuries.

Additionally, on Sept. 23 at 5:54 p.m., a rollover crash involving a 2004 Toyota Highlander occurred on I-91 south near mile marker 165 in Coventry. Kelsey Vanderley, 29, of Burlington, was ejected from the vehicle as it caught fire. She was taken to North Country Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the crash remains under investigation by authorities.

Arrests and Assault Investigations

Authorities reported the arrest of Darcy Lee, 43, of Waitsfield, on Sept. 23 for allegedly assisting a suspect in avoiding arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Vicente Delacruz Rodriguez, 28, of New Haven, was arrested on charges of attempted murder and aggravated domestic assault following a domestic incident on Sept. 23. He remains in custody at Marble Valley Correctional Facility and is scheduled for a court appearance on Sept. 24.

State police in Westminster are also seeking information regarding a suspect involved in an assault on Sept. 21 in Vernon. Anyone with details is urged to contact 802-722-4600 or submit a tip online.
