LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A motorcyclist died following a crash involving a Honda CR-V at the intersection of U.S. 231 and Veterans Memorial Parkway on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m., according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Joseph Gross, 69, of Lafayette, was driving southbound on U.S. 231 when he attempted a left turn onto Veterans Memorial Parkway.
Authorities said he failed to yield to a northbound motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the vehicle and struck another car that was stopped at a red light.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where they later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and the roadway was temporarily closed during the investigation.
