PHOENIX — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Phoenix on Saturday, authorities confirmed.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the incident near 31st and Northern avenues at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Rigoberto Bencomo, was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the SUV involved remained at the scene and was evaluated for impairment, showing no signs of intoxication.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred when the SUV driver made a left turn in front of Bencomo’s motorcycle. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
