Motorcyclist Dies After Being Thrown 144 Feet in Indiana Toll Road Accident.

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. – A motorcyclist died early Thursday morning following a crash on the Indiana Toll Road, according to Indiana State Police.

Troopers responded to the incident around 4:28 a.m. near mile marker 25. Investigators determined that a gray 2024 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The rider was ejected approximately 144 feet from the point of impact.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene; the Porter County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity. Authorities stated the motorcycle remained upright after the collision and came to a stop on the inside shoulder about 1,000 feet from the guardrail.

Speed and alcohol may be contributing factors to the crash, police said.

Eastbound lanes of the Indiana Toll Road were closed during the investigation and reopened shortly before 7 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
