Motorcyclist Killed in Collision in Northeast Richland County
COLUMBIA, S.C. — A motorcyclist died following a collision with an SUV on Clemson Road in northeast Richland County on Friday evening.
The incident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on August 14, near the intersection of Rhame Road. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the SUV was traveling east while the motorcycle was headed west when the SUV attempted a left turn onto Rhame Road. The motorcycle struck the SUV on its right side.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to the hospital, where the individual later died from injuries. The SUV driver was not injured in the incident.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the deceased. Authorities confirmed that the collision remains under investigation.
