HALFWAY, Md. — A motorcyclist died in a crash on Hopewell Road Saturday night, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the single-vehicle incident shortly after 10:45 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle, a 1996 Honda CBR600, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a guardrail.
The operator was identified as 30-year-old Bryan John Murphy Sr. He was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The roadway was closed for the investigation and reopened at approximately 1:00 a.m. No additional information is available at this time.
