AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A motorcycle collision with a car on the Interstate 40 frontage road near Arnot Road resulted in one fatality on October 4 at approximately 5:21 p.m.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that a 38-year-old motorcyclist, Kyle Edward Blazer of Chillicothe, Ohio, was traveling westbound on the frontage road.
A Ford Fusion, attempting to merge onto eastbound I-40, veered left and struck the motorcycle.
DPS stated that the motorcyclist failed to yield the right of way and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Fusion and a teenage passenger sustained minor injuries and were subsequently treated and released from a local hospital.
Emergency responders, including DPS and local authorities, managed the scene, which resulted in temporary lane closures on the frontage road.
An investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
