EAST HARTFORD — A motorcycle operator was killed in a crash on Route 2 east near the Founders Bridge just before midnight Sunday, police said.
Connecticut State Police reported that troopers responded to the scene at 11:56 p.m. and found the operator seriously injured. The operator was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Route 2 was closed until 5:50 a.m. Monday as the agency’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad conducted an investigation. The roadway has since reopened, but authorities are continuing their inquiry into the incident.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased motorcyclist, but confirmed that next of kin has been notified.
