Motorcyclist dies in Farrington Highway crash in Waialua.

WAIALUA, Hawaii – A motorcyclist died in a collision on Farrington Highway at approximately 5:24 p.m. on Monday.

According to police, a 28-year-old man riding northbound collided with a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man, who was turning left into Mokuleia Beach Park. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Matthew Ramsey, 28, of Honolulu. His cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries. Officials confirmed that Ramsey was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle and his passenger remained at the scene and reported no injuries. Authorities indicated that speed was likely a contributing factor to the collision, but the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains unconfirmed.

This incident marks Oahu’s 60th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 29 fatalities at the same point in 2022. The investigation is ongoing.

Emergency services and towing companies responded to clear the scene and assist with traffic control.
