HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Woodway Drive near Memorial Park on Tuesday night.
According to the Houston Police Department, the accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the 4700 block of Woodway Drive. The motorcyclist, riding a black Yamaha, was heading west at a high speed when he collided with a black Jeep Cherokee.
The Jeep, driven by a 55-year-old man, was traveling eastbound and attempting to turn left onto North Post Oak when the crash occurred. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The driver of the Jeep was unharmed and remained at the scene for questioning. He showed no signs of intoxication and was subsequently released by investigators.
Traffic on Woodway Drive was impacted as authorities worked at the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
