Motorcyclist Dies in San Luis Obispo Crash
A motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo on March 24, 2026, just before 9 a.m.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the motorcyclist, traveling southbound, crashed into a vehicle making a left turn from the northbound lanes onto Caudill Street. He suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Broad Street was closed from Woodbridge Street to Mitchell Drive during the investigation, with drivers detoured through the surrounding neighborhood. Evidence markers were placed along the scene, and personal items, including clothing, were observed in the roadway.
The Severe Collision Investigation Detail team responded to investigate the incident. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated fully; there is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol involvement.
