SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A motorcyclist died following a collision on northbound Interstate 5 near Pocket Road on October 5 at 10:10 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist lost control, causing the motorcycle to overturn. The rider was subsequently struck by a passing vehicle.
Authorities confirmed that emergency responders arrived but pronounced the rider deceased at the scene. The vehicle’s driver remained on-site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation; alcohol is not suspected to be a factor.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the rider’s identity after notifying next of kin. No further details on lane closures or additional injuries have been reported.
