(Ripley County, IN) – A 46-year-old motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle crash at State Road 129 and Estelle Road on Monday.
According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, a Honda Civic driven by Hayley A. Skrezyna was stopped southbound on State Road 129, preparing to turn left onto Estelle Road. The Civic was then struck from behind by a Chevrolet Colorado driven by Kenney L. Sizemore.
The collision forced the Civic into the northbound lanes, where it was hit by a motorcycle operated by John C. Jones, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that drugs and alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the accident, which remains under investigation.
Emergency responders included the Delaware Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, Indiana DNR, Indiana State Excise Police, the Osgood Police Department, and the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team. Traffic delays were reported, but lane closures have since been lifted.
