WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcycle crash on eastbound state Route 201 in West Valley City left one person dead, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred near 3000 West, involving a motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to injuries.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, “The motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle after striking the concrete retaining wall.”
Officials reported that SR-201 is partially closed in both directions. All eastbound lanes and the exit ramp are blocked, with one lane also closed in the westbound direction.
Authorities noted that both shoulders on SR-201 are obstructed. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
