WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcycle crash on eastbound State Route 201 in West Valley City resulted in one fatality on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near 3000 West, involving a motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Officials from the Utah Department of Public Safety stated the motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle after colliding with a concrete retaining wall.
Eastbound SR-201 remains fully blocked, with the exit ramp closed. In the westbound direction, one of three lanes is also obstructed, along with both shoulders.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, authorities said.
