SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the South Side on Sunday night, according to San Antonio police.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest Military Drive and Logwood Avenue, near Interstate 35.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Southwest Military Drive when he ran a red light and collided with the driver’s side of a truck, subsequently hitting a sedan. Both the motorcycle and the truck caught fire after the impact.
Police confirmed that the truck and sedan had green lights at the intersection. The drivers of both vehicles sustained minor injuries, while the motorcyclist, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending release from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Emergency crews assisted at the scene, and local agencies are conducting an investigation into the crash. No lane closures were reported following the incident.
Witnesses described seeing several bystanders rushing to aid the motorcyclist and the other drivers involved.
This crash remains under investigation by the San Antonio Police Department.
