SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A motorcyclist was killed late Sunday night after a crash on Highway 6 in Utah County.
The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. when the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, was stopped in the right lane due to mechanical issues approximately 13 miles east of Santaquin, according to Sgt. Luis Silva with the Utah Highway Patrol.
A westbound car struck the motorcyclist, who suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second motorcycle rider was uninjured, while the car’s driver and passenger sustained minor injuries, authorities reported.
US-6 was closed in both directions for investigation and scene clearance but has since reopened, according to UDOT’s Traffic Monitor.
