A motorcyclist died following a crash on the southbound 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. near Burbank Boulevard and the 101 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not determined the cause of the crash. Aerial footage showed skid marks near the motorcycle, which was located on the far-left lane beside the center median.
Multiple southbound lanes were closed as of 12:40 p.m.; however, traffic was being directed through the right-hand lanes.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. No further details were immediately available.
