BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — A motorcycle accident on the Broken Arrow Expressway resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man late Friday night.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded to the crash near 129th East Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Brandon Mathis deceased on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes.
The investigation revealed that Mathis was traveling at a high rate of speed when he attempted to pass a car in the right lane via the right shoulder. He collided with the rear of a pickup truck while merging back onto the roadway.
Authorities confirmed Mathis died at the scene. Further details regarding lane closures and towing have not yet been released. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
