COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A 26-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash on Maizeland Road on Oct. 2.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers responded to the 4000 Block of Maizeland Road at 4:40 p.m. regarding a collision involving a single motorcycle.
The motorcycle was traveling eastbound when the rider, identified as Megumi Morris, lost control and crashed. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but she succumbed to her injuries at the scene, authorities said.
The CSPD Major Crash Team is conducting the investigation. Initial findings indicate that neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors.
This incident marks the 45th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for 2025; last year at this time, there were 40 fatalities.
