A motorcycle collision in the 1400 block of South Academy Boulevard on February 6 resulted in the fatality of a 37-year-old man, according to authorities.
Joseph Pagliaro died at the scene after his motorcycle sideswiped a pickup truck that was crossing South Academy, police said. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
This incident marks the fifth traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for 2023. At the same time last year, there were no reported traffic deaths. Speed may have contributed to the collision, according to investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
