WEST VALLEY CITY — A motorcyclist died following a collision with an SUV on state Route 201 on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., the crash occurred on eastbound state Route 201 near 3000 West, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Jared Heywood.
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
Traffic is being redirected off Bangerter Highway, and state Route 201 will remain closed until about 5 p.m. as investigators gather information, Heywood confirmed.
