OGDEN (KUTV) — A 64-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a Honda SUV on Washington Boulevard Thursday morning.
The incident occurred when the motorcyclist, traveling northbound, was struck by the SUV making a left turn into his path. The victim, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The Ogden Police Department emphasized the tragedy, stating, “Our thoughts are with the rider’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.” Authorities noted the significant impact such incidents have on witnesses and responders.
Officials urged motorists to remain vigilant, stating, “Please watch out for one another and make safety a priority on our roads.” The crash is currently under investigation.
In the wake of the crash, northbound traffic at 12th Street was temporarily closed; all lanes have since been reopened.
