BROOKLINE, N.H. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Route 13 near Quimby Road on Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Brookline Police Chief Bill Quigley confirmed officers responded to the scene shortly after the incident occurred. Officials stated the motorcyclist was attempting to turn left into a private driveway when a Ford pickup truck rear-ended the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been made public. The driver of the pickup exited the vehicle and attempted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist.
Quigley noted that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation reported that three deadly motorcycle crashes had occurred in the state as of May 1, but updated statistics on crashes since then are not available.
The roadway was temporarily closed for investigation; no additional information on the incident is currently available.
