MURRAY, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on 5300 South near Intermountain Medical Center on March 31, around 5 p.m.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Francisco Contreras Villarreal. He was struck by a vehicle making a left turn onto Intermountain Drive.
Despite life-saving efforts, Villarreal died at the scene. The Murray Police Department confirmed he was wearing a helmet, which was found shortly after the crash.
The driver of the car remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Their identity has not been released.
Authorities issued a statement extending condolences to Villarreal’s family and friends and urged all drivers to remain alert, check blind spots, and be mindful of increased motorcycle traffic as warmer weather approaches.
